A man was killed in a crash involving a dump truck early this morning, according to a story from WPXI.

State police told the news station that officers were called to the area of State Route 119 at Wayne Avenue in Indiana County at around 4:34 a.m. for a single-vehicle accident.

A 2016 Mack dump truck that was unloaded was going south on State Route 119 when the driver lost control of the vehicle for unknown reasons.

The truck went into the median and hit a guardrail before going through the median, hitting an embankment, going airborne and then going through the State Route 119 overpass over Wayne Avenue, the site said.

The truck then hit a concrete barrier below and finally stopped on Wayne Avenue, police said.

The driver was identified as a 57-year-old man from Marion Center. Police said he was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash and was ejected from the truck.

The driver, who was unidentified, was first taken to a medical center and then flown to a hospital, where he died due to his injuries, WPXI said.

The investigation is ongoing. PennDOT said the ramp on State Route 119 at Exit 422 will remained closed for repairs. It’s expected to be reopened at 6 p.m., WPXI said.
