Man held gun to teen girl’s head at central Pa. Subway restaurant: police

A Mechanicsburg man is charged with holding a gun against a 16-year-old girl’s head Saturday inside a Subway restaurant, police said.

Aaron Babner, 30, took the gun into the Subway at the Newberry Commons shopping mall in Newberry Township after an argument, police said. Police said Babner pointed the gun at the teenage girl’s head but did not fire.

Babner fled the scene before officers arrived, but police said several witnesses were able to help identify him within minutes of the incident’s conclusion.

When Newberry and Upper Allen Township police took Babner into custody, officers found a gun with an obliterated serial number in a hidden compartment of his home, according to Newberry Township police.

Babner is charged with simple assault by physical menace, terroristic threats, carrying a firearm without a license, possessing instruments of crime and altering or obliterating marks of identification.

Police said Babner was arraigned on $10,000 bail and remanded to York County Prison.
