Deadly Chesterfield motorcycle crash closes Courthouse Road, traffic impacts expected

CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) — A section of Courthouse Road in Chesterfield County was closed due to a deadly motorcycle crash Wednesday morning.

The crash occurred near the intersection of Darkins Drive and Courthouse Road around 6:45 a.m. Police said the driver of a 2007 Kawasaki motorcycle was traveling north on Courthouse Road when a 2021 Toyota Camry turned onto Courthouse from Dakins. The driver of the motorcycle was unable to avoid hitting the Camry.

The driver of the motorcycle was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash. Police said none of the occupants in the Camry were injured.

An investigation into the crash is ongoing. The victim’s name is being withheld until next of kin is notified. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Chesterfield County Police Department at 804-748-1251.
