Salina, N.Y. -- A woman stabbed her father in the back during a domestic dispute in Salina Tuesday night, deputies said.
Paris Gardner, 30, was intoxicated and arguing with her father and brother inside a home on the 100 block of Marsden Road, according to a news release from the Onondaga County Sheriff’s Office.
During the argument, Gardner allegedly shattered a television before grabbing a knife from the kitchen, deputies said.
Gardner then stabbed her father in the back, deputies said.
The 50-year-old man was found laying in the front yard of the home with a single stab wound to the back, they said.
He was transported to Upstate Community Hospital, deputies said. He is expected to survive, they said.
Gardner was also taken to St. Joseph’s Hospital for treatment for a cut on her forehead, they said.
She was arrested and charged with the following.
- Second-degree assault
- Third-degree criminal possession of a weapon
- Second-degree menacing
- Third-degree criminal mischief
- Endangering the welfare of a child
