UPDATE: Area ambulance services detail staging rates

In a follow up to a story we brought you last week on WJRS NEWS where we told you that the Russell County Ambulance Service is now reportedly charging a setup fee of approximately $850 and subsequent hourly charges to attend community and sporting events, among other events, WJRS NEWS contacted several other area ambulance services to see what their policy is regarding such services.

Adair EMS Director Daryl Flatt said the Adair EMS does not charge for schools or events but they do charge Lindsey Wilson College $350 to attend events, such as football games, because they are a private institution.

Casey EMS Director Kenny Turpin said the Casey EMS has not charged in the past but due to inflation and overtime hours paid they are considering implementing such charges in the near future. They are currently in the process of determining rates.

Cumberland County EMS Director Gary White, Clinton County EMS Director Lucas Abner, and Pulaski County EMS Chief Steven Eubank all said their respective services do not currently charge to stage at community events.

Russell County EMS Director Robert Baugh is scheduled to be a guest Friday morning at 8 a.m. on All Things Russell on Laker Country 104.9 to discuss the Russell County EMS policy.
