girls-night-out-1

Girls Night Out is an event to honor women and bring awareness to cancer as well as other women’s health issues. The event is being put on by the Knoxville Hospital and Clinics.

Girls Night Out will be held tomorrow from 5 to 7 p.m. in downtown Knoxville. The event will be set up on Third Street between Robinson and Main and on Second Street between Main and Marion.

Kevin Stittsworth, Director of Knoxville Hospital and Clinics Foundation Public Relations Team tells KNIA/KRLS News, “It started about 15 years ago as a focus on breast cancer awareness, because October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. It has expanded over the years. So, we’re not only celebrating women but overall women’s health and women’s cancer.”

Around 30 vendors are expected to set up for the event downtown.
