He was very bad. How many times has anyone seen someone doing method acting in a pub? Utter tosh.

None. Tosh is being very kind. I think the writer's thought it was funny. Misguided attempt at humour number? It is pitiful what they are coming up with.

Is this now what constitutes Corrie humour? Contrast it with the brilliant scene on Monday with Jenny and Rita as the latter sat moping of front of The Remains of the Day with buttered digestives, now that was funny.

The whole play thing is utterly ridiculous. Why aren’t there any other actors in it, is it just Mary, Brian and Wendy? Why is Brian being the hunchback of Norte Dame, unless of course the play is The Hunchback?
I know they’re supposedly playing it for laughs but once again this has fallen flat.
Please no more attempts at comedy Corrie, unless it’s witty one-liners that Corrie used to be so sharp at.

I agree - it's as funny as being hit in the face with a frying pan - that kind of humour went out of fashion decades ago, and played by those who knew what they were doing.
Shame how the old stalwarts are being treated, in his earlier stints in corrie when Brian was with Julie, they were a terrific couple, and Brian could play humour very well - he's since been completely ruined. :s

Brian’s outburst was horrendous. Poor Alya got the full force of it being stood next to him. It’s a sad reflection on the show that this is what the producers consider “comedy” nowadays 😏

He is an absolute embarrassment of a character. Originally written in as a competent headmaster of the local primary school. Since his return he has been written as a complete incapable idiot. It isn’t comical, just embarrassing both for the actor and CS

He was far better with Julie Carp. Bizarre to think they had a story involving a phantom pregnancy and both actors pulled off the serious story really well.

I liked Brian and Julie as a couple. But Brian is sadly a shadow of his former self. He’s basically the male equivalent of Mary, which doesn’t make for good viewing.

They need to make Brian and Mary like Roy a bit quirky but not totally nuts

There seem to be fewer and fewer scenes taking place in The Kabin nowadays. Maybe it's time for someone else to buy the shop and turn it into a different type of establishment so that Brian can depart the street.

The am dram nonsense with Brian and Mary is appalling. I've never known an amateur group like it. The scenes are not remotely funny. I'm amazed they haven't incuded Glenda in them - despite Jodie Prenger feeling like a great fit for Corrie, they appear to be going down the forced OTT comedy route with the character which is such a shame.

I think both characters should quietly be written out of the show.
