MIAMI (WSVN) - A video was released that showed a person dousing a car with a liquid before igniting it. There is now an ongoing search for the person behind the arson attack.
On Sunday, Ring camera video captured someone walking up to a car, carrying something in their hand, before tossing it onto the car.
It appears that person then sets it on fire.
The car belongs to Sylvio Cuadra.
In Spanish, he told 7news the incident makes him nervous.
The incident happened close to 3 a.m.
Cuadra said he reported it to Miami Police, and he is confident detectives will catch the person responsible.
The extensive damage from the fire is captured in pictures.
Sylvio has lived in the community 20 years and said he’s never had any problems with anyone here, off Northwest 17th Street.
He wonders what kind of person would do something like this, especially because it happened so close to other homes with families and fears it could have been worse.
Miami Police Department told 7News it is a active investigation.
