Aaron Judge’s 62nd home run ball could be worth up to $2 million and one fan was going to do everything he could to give himself a chance — and we mean everything.
As Judge hit his historic home run Tuesday night at Globe Life Field in Texas, one fan who saw the ball coming his way, but not exactly to where he was sitting, decided to hop the railing and jump down into the area below between the outfield fence and seats.
It seemed like an odd decision to make considering the ball did not even land in that area and was instead caught by a fan sitting in the front row.
Per reporters covering the game, the fan did not sustain any injuries and was escorted out of the stadium by security.
As Brad Townsend of the Dallas Morning News pointed out, it appeared the fan was hoping that in the mad dash to catch the ball it would bounce off everyone’s hands and land in the pit below where he would be the only one waiting to scoop it up.
Hey, if it worked he’d be a genius. Instead, he’s probably begging not to be banned from the stadium and does not even have a million-dollar ball to go with it.
