PARAGOULD, Ark. (KAIT) – Paragould police are investigating a shooting that sent a man to the hospital.

Captain Brad Snyder said his department got a call at 6:38 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 4, about the shooting in the 600-block of Magnolia Drive.

Witnesses reported hearing several shots fired.

When officers arrived at the scene, they found a man suffering with a single gunshot wound.

“Once the scene was declared safe, fire and EMS tended to the victim before transporting him to a Jonesboro hospital for treatment,” Snyder said.

The victim was treated and later released.

“There is no reason to believe that the public is in danger,” Snyder emphasized, adding that the incident is under investigation.
