That was John Sterling's call, and congratulations to Texas' Jesus Tinoco, who now goes down in Yankees history, having allowed Aaron Judge's 62nd home run of 2022 - setting a new Yankees and American League single-season record.
Judge was 3-for-16 over five games since hitting No. 61 in Toronto last week, but he needed just three pitches into Game 2 of Tuesday's doubleheader to launch the record-breaker deep into the left field seats at Globe Life Park:
And now, after weeks of anticipation and 61 years and three days after Roger Maris set the previous record, Aaron Judge stands alone in Yankees, and baseball, history.
Perhaps the only one happier than Judge and the Yankees? Corey Youmans, for whom the procurement of a ticket in section 31, row 1, seat 3 of Globe Life Field for Game 2 was a most life-changing decision.
