THIS ALL-UNFOLDED EARLIER TONIGHT WHEN DEPUTIES SAY THEY GOT A CALL FROM SHARPSHOOTERS GUN RANGE ON RUTHERFORD ROAD. THAT’S NEARLY 10 MILES FROM THIS MOTEL AND ABOUT A 15 MINUTE DRIVE. DEPUTIES SAY THE WOMAN LEFT THE GUN RANGE WITH A GUN AND WAS POSSIBLY THREATENING TO HARM HERSELF. THEY LEARNED THE WOMAN ENDED UP HERE AT THE ECONOLODGE. WHERE SHE HAS BARRICADED HERSELF IN A ROOM. WE ASKED DEPUTIES IF THE GUN BELONGED TO HER OR IF SHE STOLE IF FROM THE GUN RANGE. -- STOLE IT FROM THE GUN RANGE, WE HAVE NOT HEARD BACK. SINCE WE REPORTED THIS EARLIER SWAT HAS ARRIVED ON SCENE AND THEY ARE WORKING ON REMOVING THE WOMAN FROM THE ROOM. A standoff at a motel between a woman with a gun and Greenville County deputies ended early Wednesday morning, according to officials at the scene. It started Tuesday evening before 7 p.m. when deputies got a call that a woman was possibly threatening to harm herself at the Econolodge on Interstate Court. That's near the Pelham Road exit of I-85. The woman had left Sharpshooters gun range on Rutherford Road with a gun and then drove to the motel, deputies said.Deputies learned the woman barricaded herself in a room. The standoff ended around 1 a.m. Wednesday.Deputies found the woman dead in the room, according to Lt. Ryan Flood with the Greenville County Sheriff's Office. Flood said the woman died from "what appears to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound."The coroner has not released the woman's name.
