Trail Blazers vs. Utah Jazz: Preseason preview, time, TV channel, how to watch free live stream online

Anfernee Simons looks on during a Portland Trail Blazers practice at UC Santa Barbara in Santa Barbara, California, on Friday, Sept. 30, 2022.

The Portland Trail Blazers will play the second of back-to-back games Tuesday night against the Utah Jazz at the Moda Center.

The Blazers on Monday night lost 102-97 to the LA Clippers in Seattle, Washington.

An aspect that stood out from that game was the job Blazers guard Anfernee Simons did on defense inside against Clippers forward Kawahi Leonard early in the game. The 6-foot-3 Simons held his own in the post against the much larger, 6-7 Leonard, impressing Blazers coach Chauncey Billups.

“I thought Ant did a hell of a job in that position,” Billups said. “They really kind of attacked him. They went after him. He stood his ground, did a really good job. Kawhi made the turn-around on the baseline but in my eyes, the way I see that is, Kawhi Leonard is gonna make that shot on whoever’s guarding him. So, it wasn’t bad defense, it was really good offense, actually. I think another time, Ant fought him off and contested the shot and got out and ran.”

An improved Simons on defense would be a huge development for the Blazers this season.
