The Pittsburgh Penguins have assigned forward Jonathan Gruden to the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins of the American Hockey League, it was announced today by General Manager Ron Hextall.

Gruden, 22, spent the 2021-22 season with WBS, tallying 10 goals, 17 assists and 27 points in a team high 75 games. To date, the 6-foot-0, 172-pound Gruden has secured 41 points (16G-25A) in 107 career games with WBS.
Prior to his professional career, Gruden appeared in 59 games with the London Knights (OHL), where he recorded 30 goals, 36 assists, 66 points and a plus-20. His 30 goals ranked second on the team, while his 66 points ranked fourth among all London skaters.
Gruden was originally drafted in the fourth round (95th overall) by the Ottawa Senators during the 2018 NHL Draft.
