Seattle Mariners outfielder Sam Haggerty went on the 10-day injured list Tuesday with a left groin strain.

Haggerty, 28, finishes the regular season batting .256 with five home runs, 23 RBIs and 13 stolen bases in 83 games.

He left Monday night’s 4-3 loss to the Detroit Tigers after stealing second base in the ninth inning.

The playoff-bound Mariners recalled infielder Abraham Toro from Triple-A Tacoma and added left-hander Justus Sheffield as the 29th man for Tuesday’s doubleheader with the visiting Tigers.

Toro, 25, has batted .179 with nine homers and 30 RBIs in 106 games this season with Seattle.

Sheffield, 26, has no decisions and has not allowed a run in five relief appearances covering 6 2/3 innings with the Mariners.
