On Tuesday, Andy & Randy were joined by 92.9 The Game Atlanta Braves insider Grant McAuley, who talked about the Braves sweeping the Mets, the Rookie of the Year race between Michael Harris and Spencer Strider, and the remaining games on the schedule.

But the conversation pivoted toward Jake Odorizzi and the idea of Tuesday’s start against the Miami Marlins potentially being his last pitching outing in a Braves uniform.

“I mean you would think just based on the numbers of how you are going to put together your postseason roster and the fact that you don’t need five starting pitchers. The very simply math is that if you get Spencer Strider back, which is still an if right now, that that would be the only circumstance in which you might consider utilizing Jake Odorizzi,” Grant replied when asked if he thinks tonight is the last time Odorizzi pitches for the Braves.

“He has not been able to give the Braves just the modicum of consistency that they need of something resembling a quality start and that’s something that in the postseason will only be magnified and will only put more stress on that bullpen. So to make a long answer as short as I can, probably but nothing is off the table yet until you figure out where Spencer Strider’s health is,” Grant added to his answer.

During his time with the Braves so far this season, Odorizzi is 1-3 with a 5.66 ERA and 1.67 WHIP.

The Braves' magic number to win the NL East is still at 1 after the Marlins beat the Braves in the first game of their three-game series on Monday.

You can hear Andy & Randy Monday-Friday from 11a-2p on 92.9 The Game.
