New York will be front and center this winter for the MLB offseason, as two of the biggest stars in the game will likely be on the free agent market.
The Yankees could be at risk of losing Aaron Judge after a likely MVP season in which he has already matched the franchise home run record, while the Mets could lose arguably the best pitcher in the league when healthy in Jacob deGrom, if he does indeed opt out.
Assuming both do hit the open market, where will these two superstars land? The Boomer and Gio crew took their cracks at predicting their eventual destinations, and some of them would certainly shake up the landscape of the league.
Jerry: “I think deGrom ends up in Atlanta and Judge with the Mets.”
Gio: Judge Yanks, deGrom Braves
Al: Both stay with their current teams
Eddie: Judge Giants, deGrom Dodgers
Boomer: Judge Giants, deGrom Houston or Texas.
Judge going to the Mets would certainly stir up some anger in the Bronx, but the Braves would then have deGrom to try and silence Judge’s bat when facing his former team if Jerry’s prediction pans out.
