Man accused of stabbing his father to death has died

A 38-year-old man charged with stabbing his father to death last year has died.

Harrison County Coroner Brian Switzer said John William Anderson went into cardiac arrest and was pronounced dead at a local hospital about 5 p.m Monday night.

Anderson was charged with aggravated domestic violence and first degree murder in the January 20-21 stabbing death of his father, Tom Anderson. According to the Harrison County jail docket, Anderson had been out on bond since October of last year.

Switzer said the cause of death is pending a toxicology report.
