Paducah woman accused of stabbing husband to death

PADUCAH, Ky. (KFVS) - A woman has been charged in connection with the stabbing death of her husband early Tuesday morning, October 4.

Cocina M. Penn, 41, was arrested on a charge of murder/domestic violence.

According to Paducah police, they were called to a reported stabbing around 4:45 a.m. on Tuesday, October 3 at Seitz and Mississippi Streets.

Officers say they found a man, later identified as 56-year-old Robert Penn, lying in the road with numerous lacerations. He was pronounced dead at the scene by the McCracken County coroner.

Penn’s wife, Cocina, told officers she and her husband were walking about 3:10 a.m. when her husband was attacked by an unknown man.

According to the police department, detectives found evidence at the scene that disputed her claims. They determined there was no unknown attacker.

Cocina Penn was arrested at 11:18 a.m. on Tuesday and booked into the McCracken County Regional Jail.

An autopsy was performed at the Regional Crime Lab in Madisonville.

Penn is currently being held without bond. Her first arraignment in McCracken County District Court is scheduled for October 11 at 11 a.m.
