Man Traveling Too Fast for Conditions Crashes into Utility Pole

PINE CREEK TOWNSHIP, Pa. (EYT) – State Police say a driver was traveling too fast for conditions and crashed into utility pole over the weekend.

Punxsutawney-based State Police responded to a one-vehicle crash on October 2 around 9:08 a.m., on Fuller Road in Pine Creek Township, Jefferson County.

Police said the driver of a southbound 2007 Ford Fusion was traveling too fast for conditions and was unfamiliar with the road.

As the driver attempted to negotiate a right-hand turn, he lost control of his vehicle on the wet roadway and travelled across the northbound lane before entering the northbound shoulder.

The vehicle sideswiped a utility pole and travelled approximately 25 yards down an embankment before coming to a final rest facing southwest.

The driver was utilizing a seatbelt and was not injured.

Functional damage was observed on the driver’s side of the vehicle. It was towed from the scene by McPherson Towing.

The driver, whose name was not released, was cited with a traffic violation.
