Michigan State defensive tackle Jacob Slade (64) tries to get into the backfield against Ohio State offensive lineman Dawand Jones (79) during their 2020 game at Spartan Stadium in East Lansing.

COLUMBUS, Ohio -- The Ohio State football team will play its first road game of the season when it travels to Michigan State on Saturday.

The game will kick off at 4 p.m. on ABC with Chris Fowler on play-by-play, Kirk Herbstreit as color commentator and Holly Rowe as sideline reporter. This will be OSU’s third game on ABC this season, with wins over Notre Dame and Wisconsin being prime-time kickoffs.

The Buckeyes have won the last six meetings, which include three Big Ten championship games, and are 35-15 overall. Their last loss came at home in 2015 went the Spartans ended a chance to repeat as national champion in the second year of the College Football Playoff era.

The last time OSU faced Michigan State, it walked away with a 56-7 win while quarterback C.J. Stroud vaulted himself to the front of the Heisman Trophy race after throwing for 432 yards and six touchdowns on 32 of 35 passing. The bulk of that production came in the first half, featuring a stretch of 17 straight completions, tying a record set by J.T. Barrett in 2017.

Now he returns to East Lansing, where he once scored his first career touchdown — and only rushing touchdown — on a 48-yard run.

Ohio State comes into this game with a 5-0 record, fresh off a 49-10 win over Rutgers. After starting the season 2-0, Michigan State has lost its last three games, the most recent being on the road to Maryland.
