One person dies in Tuesday morning house fire in Redding

One person died in a house fire Tuesday morning in a south Redding neighborhood.

The fire started about 5:20 a.m. in the 1800 block of Eugenia Avenue south of West Street, according to Fire Prevention Specialist Camber Dietrich of the Redding Fire Department.

Redding fire officials and police are investigating a house fire that killed one person in the 1800 block of Eugenia Avenue in the Martin Luther King  Jr. neighborhood on Tuesday morning, Oct. 4, 2022..

"Upon first arrival, (firefighters) found a well-involved single-family dwelling," Dietrich said. "Upon a primary search, one victim was located in the home."

An investigation is underway, including into the fire's cause.

"Redding Fire and RPD are doing a joint investigation," Dietrich said.
