2 more shootings linked in Stockton serial killings; woman survived 2021 attack | Two more victims, one of them a woman who survived a shooting attack, were linked in connection with serial killings in Stockton, according to police. Both shootings happened in 2021. Read more here.
Officials say a Central Valley family, including an 8-month-old child, were kidnapped | A Central Valley family of four, including an 8-month-old child, was kidnapped on Monday, by a person the sheriff's office believes to be armed and dangerous. It is unknown if the family knew their kidnapper, but the sheriff's office is urging people to not approach the family or kidnapper and to instead call 911, if spotted. Read more here.
Finger-pointing continues between gas companies and California over price hikes | Gas prices are rising and so is tension between the state's Democratic leaders and oil companies operating across California. CDC suspends country-specific COVID-19 travel advisories | The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention will no longer maintain a country-by-country list of travel advisories related to COVID-19, the agency said Monday. A notice will only be posted for a country if there is a concerning COVID-19 variant or other situation that would change the CDC's travel recommendations. Read more here.
Prosecutor: Oath Keepers concocted an 'armed rebellion' on Jan. 6 | The founder of the Oath Keepers extremist group and four associates planned an "armed rebellion" to keep President Donald Trump in power, a federal prosecutor contended Monday as the most serious case yet went to trial in the Jan. 6, 2021, attack on the U.S. Capitol. Hurricane Orlene hits Mexico's Pacific coast near Mazatlan | Hurricane Orlene made landfall on Mexico's Pacific coast near the tourist town of Mazatlan on Monday before quickly weakening over land into a tropical depression. Authorities did not immediately report any damage, but along the coast, they suspended classes, closed seaports and set up shelters. Read more here.

Meteorologist Tamara Berg says Tuesday will be very similar to Monday, with some clouds shuffling across our skies. Temperatures will be in the upper 50s by 8 a.m., in the mid- to low-70s by noon, and topping out in the upper 80s by 4 p.m.
