Hillsborough County Fire Rescue battled an overnight fish farm fire in Plant City.

PLANT CITY, Fla. – Hillsborough County Fire Rescue battled an overnight fish farm fire in Plant City.

Firefighters responded to a working structure fire at a fish farm located at6507 Bob Head Road.

HCFR’s dispatch received the 911 call from an individual near the location at 2:09 AM Tuesday.

The caller reported heavy flames and smoke coming from one of the buildings at the fish farm. Engine 26 was the first on the scene, confirming heavy fire and smoke through the roof of the large building.

Crews quickly deployed handlines and an aerial master stream to keep the blaze in check. Water was supplied through shuttle operations using water tankers.

Firefighters are currently working to put out hot spots. There were no occupants inside the building at the time of the fire. HCFR’s Fire Investigations Unit is on the scene investigating the cause.

There was one firefighter transported from the scene with a minor injury.
