Spring Valley Hall scored 26 unanswered points enroute to a 26-15 win to spoil Kewanee's Homecoming Friday.

The visitors scored three times in the first half, including an 80-plus-yard run and pass to put the Red Devils up 20-0 after two quarters.

The Boilermakers wouldn't find the end zone until the 9:29 mark when junior quarterback Brady clark tossed a 20-yard touchdown to sophomore Ben Taylor. They added another score at the 3:30 mark on a one-yard Alex Duarte dive.

The teams played close statistically, with Kewanee collecting more first downs (18-13) and more total yards than Spring Valley (432-417). The Boilers had a balanced offensive attack, with Clark going 11 for 19 with 169 yards in air and Kewanee backs picking up 263 yards.

But two lost Kewanee fumbles negated much of that offensive progress. The Boilermakers committed eight penalties for a loss of 55 yards while Hall had eight for 71 yards.

Hall stayed on the ground with 332 yards rushing.

Kewanee's top rushers were Garret Pettit (85), Clark (75) and Duarte (68). The top receiver was Jaiden Little, who made six catches for 105 yards.

Defensive statistics were not available.

Kewanee is 2-4 overall and 1-3 in the TRAC East. Peru St. Bede and Princeton are both tied for first and undefeated at 6-0.
