It's National Taco Day! Here's where you can get food, tequila and fun deals in Lubbock

National Taco Day falls on Tuesday, Oct. 4 this year, and several restaurants in Lubbock are offering some delicious deals.

Chuy's

Lubbock's Chuy's at 4805 S. Loop 289, will offer several specials, including:

  • Add a ground beef soft or crispy taco to any dine-in entrée for $1.
  • $1 tequila floaters to top margaritas.
  • Dress like a taco, post a photo with #ChuysTacoDay and get a free dine-in entrée.

The restaurant also offers meal kits at order.chuys.com. There are kits for tacos and fajitas.

Fuzzy's Taco Shop

Fuzzy's Taco Shop will offer $1.50 tacos, and offer a chance for tacos for a year. The fajita meats, shrimp, mahi, and California Heat tacos are excluded from the deal.

On The Border Mexican Grill & Cantina

On The Border Mexican Grill & Cantina will have multiple deals for $2-$4 on tacos and beer:

  • $2 Classic Tacos – Chicken Tinga, Ground Beef and Veggie.
  • $3 Bottled beers.
  • $4 Southwest Chicken Taco – Mesquite-grilled chicken, cheddar cheese, creamy red chile sauce and fried onion strings in warm, hand-pressed flour tortillas.
  • $4 Brisket Tacos – Shredded beef brisket, Jack cheese, fried onion strings and jalapeño-BBQ sauce in warm, hand-pressed flour tortillas.

Taco Bell

Taco Bell is taking National Taco Day a step further by bringing back the Taco Pass. The $10 pass, available on Oct. 4, will allow people to get one free taco for 30 days and gain access to a special menu.

Velvet Taco

The Honey Chipotle Chicken taco at Velvet Taco

Velvet Taco, 2401 Glenna Goodacre Blvd., started featuring a fan-made taco on Sept. 28. The Pho King, available through Oct. 4, has ​​rotisserie chicken, bok choy, herb salad, pickled onions, pickled fresnos, crispy garlic, rice noodles, hoisin, bean sprouts, and lime in a flour tortilla, served with a pho broth on the side.
