3 arrested for carjacking at Rolling Hills Casino

TEHAMA COUNTY, Calif. - Three people were arrested after receiving a report of a carjacking at the Rolling Hills Casino on Saturday, according to the Tehama County Sheriff’s Office. 

Deputies responded to the casino Saturday around 6:30 a.m. after they received a report from a man saying he was approached by two men, one of who had a shotgun, while he was in the parking lot. 

The men demanded that he exit his vehicle. Once he got out, deputies said the men took his vehicle and left the area, according to the Tehama County Sheriff’s Office. 

During the investigation, deputies identified Roberto Diaz-Mendoza, 29, and Joseph Lodge, 18, as the two men suspected in the carjacking. 

The vehicle was found in Glenn County and recovered.

Deputies located Diaz-Mendoza, Lodge and 37-year-old Karla Ortega-Pahua. Deputies said they had a vehicle that was stolen out of Chico. 

They were arrested and deputies said they found guns believed to be used when the vehicle was stolen. 

As they were booked into jail, deputies said each person was found in possession of methamphetamine and/or fentanyl. 

All three people were booked for carjacking, felon in possession of a gun and bringing drugs into jail.
