MGCCC Nursing Program tops in state

Congratulations are in order for Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College.

The associate degree nursing program is ranked number six in the nation and is the top program in the state.

MGCCC also is ranked number seven in the nation by EDUMed’s list of most affordable nursing programs for 2023.

MGCCC’s program has 403 students and is offered at the Bryant Center at Tradition. It has been ranked as the number one program in Mississippi for several years.

Joan Hendrix, the associate vice president of the school of nursing and health professions, met with WXXV to discuss the honor. “It is a tremendous opportunity for the students, the employees, and for all the nursing administration team to feel good about what we’re doing here. We make sure that the curriculum is robust, it includes constructs and objectives and outcomes that what the work force is looking for, the employers are looking for to ensure that we have competent and safe nurses.”
