Well after the center of Ian pushed over the Commonwealth early Saturday morning the remnants are still lingering off the coast of Delaware. Technically this is still the moisture left behind by Ian. Normally once the tropical remnants clear the Commonwealth…they race north and east to the Northern Atlantic. Not Ian, this feature is trapped over the Western Atlantic as an area of low pressure stacked up in the sky. This remnant low is spinning off the Delmarva Peninsula and throwing back some chilly air, some spotty light rain, and generating breezy conditions.

As the week moves along this feature is expected to remain and keep the cool north to northeast winds flowing over the region. The chance for a few light showers to speckle our eastern counties will be low but not zero. The impacts will mainly be the brisk breeze and the cool conditions.

Mild weather is expected to return Wednesday and linger through the end of the work week.

The temperatures this week will be defined as cool overnight and mild in the afternoon.

There will be a mix of clouds and sunshine as the week moves along with more sunshine than clouds.

Late Friday a cold front pushes through and we finally get to say goodbye to the remnants of Ian and hello to a crisp and chilly pattern this weekend.
