GOOD EVENING. I’M VICKI DORTCH. ALEX FOSTER IS BEHIND BARS TONIGHT FOR A DEADLY SHOOTING AND LAWYERS. CALIFORNIA NEIGHBORHOOD WLKY IS JAMIE MAYES SPOKE TO THE VICTIM’S FAMILY ABOUT HOW THEY’RE CONTINUING TO FIGHT FOR JUSTICE. AND THAT’S WHAT WE’VE BEEN PRAYING FOR. THAT’S WHAT EVERYBODY’S BEEN PRAYING FOR IN LIGHT. WE DON’T WANT REVENGE. WE WANT JUSTICE. NOW, MICHELLE MILLER AND SHANAYA YOUNGBLOOD SAY THEY ARE ONE STEP CLOSER TO GETTING JUSTICE FOR THEIR LOVED ONE. SHAD ARIAN YOUNGBLOOD. ON SUNDAY, KENTUCKY STATE POLICE ARRESTED 29 YEAR OLD ALEX FOSTER HER. HE WAS PULLED OVER FOR SPEEDING IN HENRY COUNTY BUT TROOPERS DISCOVERED HE HAD A WARRANT OUT FOR HIS ARREST FOR MURDER. THERE WAS NEVER A DAY YOU DIDN’T SEE A SMILE ON HIS FACE. ACCORDING TO THE POLICE REPORT. FOSTER SHOT YOUNGBLOOD DURING AN ARGUMENT IN A PARKING LOT AT THE CORNER OF WEST BROADWAY AND 17TH STREETS IN AUGUST. WHEN MILLER HEARD ABOUT THE SHOOTING. SHE RUSHED TO THE SCENE. BY THE TIME I GOT TO BROADWAY AND LOOKED TO MY LEFT, ALL I SEEN WAS POLICE LIGHTS. THAT’S ALL I’VE SEEN. AND I DROVE DOWN THERE, AND ALL I SEEN WILL TAKE. SO. AND POLICE OFFICERS OUT THERE. AND I’D JUMP. I’M A COP. YOUNGBLOOD WAS SHOT MULTIPLE TIMES NEAR THIS INTERSECTION. HE WAS RUSHED TO THE HOSPITAL THAT NIGHT, AND BY THE MORNING, HE WAS DEAD. MY SON DID NOT WANT TO LEAVE THIS. HE FELT HE FOUGHT ALL THE WAY TILL 2:00, THEN. THIS ISN’T THE FIRST TIME TRAGEDY HAS HIT THIS FAMILY. THREE YEARS AGO, SHANAYA YOUNGBLOOD LOST HER TWINS FATHER TO GUN VIOLENCE. AND IN FEBRUARY, MILLER’S YOUNGEST SON PASSED FROM HEALTH COMPLICATIONS. NOW SHE’S MOURNING TWO OF HER CHILDREN LOST WITHIN JUST SEVEN MONTHS. IT’S THE WORST. IT IS THE WORST. THE WHOLE WORLD, BECAUSE IT’S 20 YEARS OF THIS WORK. SOMEBODY SAID THE PLAY GOT INSIDE MY CHAIR WHEN YOU COULDN’T YOU YOU COULD HAVE PUT OUR DUKES UP AND YOU COULD HAVE FOUGHT HIM. The family of a man who was shot and killed in the California Neighborhood says they’re one step closer to getting justice for their loved one.On Sunday, Kentucky State Police said they pulled over 29-year-old Alex Foster for speeding in Henry County, and when they ran a check on him, they discovered the outstanding warrant for his arrest. Foster was pulled over around 1:30 am Sunday on Interstate 71 at mile marker 26.One of the warrants Foster was wanted on was for murder. Another was for possession of a handgun by a convicted felon.“That's what we've been praying for. That's what everybody has been praying for and like we don't want revenge. We want justice,” said Shania Youngblood.The murder he's charged in connection with happened on Aug. 28 near Broadway and 17th streets. Sha’Darrion Youngblood was shot multiple times near the intersection. He was rushed to the hospital, and by the morning, he was dead. His family is still mourning his loss.“He was hyper. If he wasn't coming flying around the corner on his skateboard, he was coming flying around the corner on a dirt bike or something,” said Michelle Miller, Youngblood’s mother.“There was never a day you didn't see a smile on his face, ever,” said Shania Youngblood, the victim's sister.According to the police report, Foster shot Youngblood during an argument in a parking lot. When Miller heard about the shooting, she rushed to the hospital.“By the time I got to Broadway and looked to my left, all I saw were police lights. That's all I saw, and I drove down there, and all I saw was tape and police officers out there, and I just jumped out my car,” Miller said.This isn’t the first time tragedy has hit the family. Three years ago, Shania Youngblood lost her twins’ father to gun violence. In February, Miller’s youngest son passed from health complications. Now she’s mourning two of her children lost within seven months.“It's the worst feeling in the whole wide world because that's 25 years of my best work that somebody decided to play God,” Miller said.In addition to the previous charges from the active warrants, Foster was charged with driving under the influence, driving with a suspended or revoked license and not having registered plates, among other traffic violations.Foster is being held at the Oldham County Detention Center.
