The Bangor Police And Fire Departments spent the early hours, just around sunrise Monday, investigating the details surrounding a body that was found near 1576 Hammond Street, in Bangor.

Someone called authorities around 6:30 AM to report that they'd found the man.

Sergeant Jason McAmbley, Public Information Officer for the Bangor Police Department said:

"Officers located the male, who was obviously deceased and beyond any attempt to resuscitate. The investigation is being handled by Bangor detectives to determine the male’s identity and locate next of kin. An autopsy will be performed by the state medical examiner’s office to determine cause of death."

Authorities do not believe the death is suspicious. They also don't believe there is a risk to the public.
