Opening Day of the 2022 Arizona Fall League was Monday, which marked the start of a 30-game stretch for Los Angeles Dodgers prospects and others who are participating.

The seven Dodgers prospects playing in the AFL this year are Hyun-il Choi, Tanner Dodson, Ben Harris, Emmet Sheehan, Jorbit Vivas, Andy Pages and Jose Ramos. Triple-A Oklahoma City lead athletic trainer Chelsea Willette is also part of the Desert Dogs coaching staff.

The Arizona Fall League is in its 30th season, which runs through Nov. 12 with games played at six Cactus League stadiums.

Choi, the Dodgers’ 2021 Branch Rickey Minor League Pitcher of the Year, appeared in only two games this season.

He split those between the Arizona League affiliate and and High-A Great Lakes, allowing a combined three runs (two earned) on four hits over four innings pitched. All of that came in a start for the Loons.

Dodson also made an appearance for the Rookie level affiliate before joining Double-A Tulsa to finish out the 2022 Minor League season. The right-hander went 4-0 with an 8.39 ERA in 29 relief appearances for the Drillers.

Harris pitched for Low-A Rancho Cucamonga and the Loons, going a combined 4-1 with seven saves and a 3.72 ERA in 44 games. He fared well after earning a promotion to Great Lakes, where the left-hander went 3-0 with a 1.93 ERA.

Sheehan spent time with the Loons and Drillers, and finished 7-2 with a 2.91 ERA 20 games (14 starts).

Vivas played the entire season with the Loons, batting .269/.374/.401 with 19 doubles, seven triples, 10 home runs and 66 RBI over 128 games.

Pages spent all of 2022 with the Drillers, hitting .236/.336/.468 with 29 doubles, 26 home runs and 80 RBI in 132 games.

Ramos batted a combined .249/.339/.479 with 22 doubles, 25 home runs and 97 RBI while playing for the Quakes and Loons.
