(WWJ) – Metro Detroit drivers are dealing with big traffic trouble near Detroit Metro Airport Monday afternoon.

WWJ traffic tipsters are reporting a crash involving a car hauler on northbound Merriman Road near I-94, affecting traffic trying to leave the airport via I-94.

The WWJ 24-Hour Traffic Center says drivers can get to and from the airport via I-275 /Eureka Road.

While authorities have not released any details about the crash, WWJ traffic tipster Pam says a car hauler slammed into the overpass, creating quite the mess.

“A car hauler went under it and a brand new Dodge Ram ProMaster van that was on top facing backwards hit the bridge with the back end and all that’s left of that van is the passenger compartment. The rest of it is completely destroyed,” Pam said.

She said what was left of the van was sitting on NB Merriman just past the overpass.

No injuries have been reported.
