For a mere $40,000 each, two people are getting a pottery lesson and a smoke session — if they so choose — with Seth Rogen.
The lessons were by far the most popular items of Rogen and his wife Lauren Miller Rogen’s live auction during their annual Hilarity for Charity event in Los Angeles on Saturday night.
For $26,000, one guest and five of their friends scored a private cooking lesson with Momofuku chef David Chang, and another paid $24,000 for a private skateboarding lesson for four with Tony Hawk.
John Mayer, who was headlining the Alzheimer’s disease nonprofit’s 10th birthday at Rolling Greens in downtown LA, came out and surprised the crowd by offering up a signed guitar and a private virtual concert, which also went for $26,000. The event raised $860,000 in total.
After the auction, Mayer, 44, performed hit songs including “Gravity,” “Waiting on the World to Change” and “New Light” and dedicated his stoner anthem “Who Says” to the “Knocked Up” actor.
Other acts included stand-up sets from “Nailed It!” host Nicole Byer and “Loot” star Ron Funches as well as a tap-dancing set from Chloe Arnold’s Syncopated Ladies and magician Justin Willman.
Guests were treated to Prince Street Pizza, Shake Shack, Creamy Boys and more outside of the venue, where a Ferris wheel and other carnival games were held while Samantha Ronson and Bree DeLano spun tunes. Natasha Leggero, Jillian Bell and Fortune Feimster acted as carnies for the classic water-shooting game.
Seth and Lauren, both 40, started HFC — which raises money for Alzheimer’s awareness and care giver support — after the “For a Good Time, Call…” actress’ mother was diagnosed with the disease when she was 55 years old.
“Ten years we’ve been doing this,” Seth told the crowd on Saturday, joking, “I’m still a famous person, that’s nice! This whole thing could have come crashing down, but no.”
Lauren added later, while thanking the audience, that her mother, who died of the disease in 2020, would have been proud.
Meanwhile, the “Freaks and Geeks” actor has begun selling his ceramic designs since he began learning pottery in 2019.
“There’s something that’s so therapeutic about it,” he told GQ at the time. “It’s like yoga, if you got a thing at the end. If you were doing yoga and then some object was produced at the end of it.”
