Anne Arundel County police are asking for the public's help to identify a man who, they say, accidentally fired a gun inside the Arundel Mills mall food court Saturday.
Around 3:30 p.m. Saturday, police said the man was adjusting his pants when a gun in his waistband went off and fired toward the floor. The gunshot caused a brief panic inside the mall as people fled the food court.
No one was wounded, but two people were hurt running away from the scene. Police said the gunman fled with the rest of the crowd.
The mall, including the movie theater, and the nearby Maryland Live! casino were briefly evacuated after the shooting.
"All of sudden I heard this pop and then everybody started running, all of sudden it was just like chaos," a mall employee told FOX45 News Saturday.
Anyone with information about the suspect is asked to call detectives at 410-222-6155 or the Anne Arundel County tip line at 410-222-4700.
