OBITUARY: Ronnie Clyde Stricklin

HAMLET ― Ronnie Clyde Stricklin, 78, of Hamlet, passed away Thursday, Sept. 29, 2022 at his residence.

He was born Feb. 12, 1944, in Hamlet, son of the late Clyde William and Mildred Gainey Stricklin.

Ronnie was a veteran of the United States Army. He was a member of Faith Free Will Baptist Church in Rockingham and also attended Second Baptist Church in Hamlet. Fishing, making knives, and a love of guns were some of his hobbies. He was a funny, dad-joke-telling man who loved his family and they loved him.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Clyde William and Mildred Gainey Stricklin; and wife, Annie Stricklin.

Ronnie is survived by his children, Brandy L. Grooms (Toby) of Rockingham, Megan VanBuren (Brandon) of Hamlet, and Ronnie Clyde Stricklin of Alabama; brother, Jimmy Stricklin (Jean) of Hamlet; sisters, Millie S. Vickers (Johnny) and Nancy K. Stricklin, both of Hamlet; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be Friday, Oct. 7, 2022 from 2-3 p.m. at Faith Free Will Baptist Church, Rockingham.

The memorial service will begin at 3 p.m., following the visitation, with Pastor David Lee officiating.

Harrington Funeral Home & Crematory is serving the Stricklin family.
