Former Penn State University President Graham Spanier will discuss his new book, “In the Lions’ Den: The Penn State Scandal and a Rush to Judgment,” at a special in-person event at a central Pa. bookstore.
The event will run from 1-3 p.m. Oct. 16 at Cupboard Maker Books, 157 N. Enola Road, Enola. He will also be signing copies of the book.
Spanier’s recently released 494-page memoir details the almost decade-long legal case that ended with him spending two months in the Centre County Correctional Facility with work release and two months under house arrest for his role in the Jerry Sandusky child sexual abuse scandal.

Spanier was convicted at a jury trial in 2017 of deciding to handle an allegation of abuse by Sandusky in-house, rather than reporting it to police or child welfare authorities.
In the book, he says that he never committed any crimes, was unjustly forced to resign and that the case damaged his life and health. He calls the ordeal a “rush to injustice” in the prologue.
