‘Women’ Put Rockford in Top Three of ‘Top Haunted Cities’ List of Illinois

Also as we start October, you'll need to know a few things. Scary, haunted stuff will flood your internet searches for a month...and you live in the right state AND city if you dig the spooky things. Oh, and this list points the finger at WOMEN as the reason. As my wife said, "well this sounds stupid."

Mysterious Heartland has put together a list of cities in Illinois that are the most haunted. Take into count the size of the city, the number of abandoned buildings, how old structures are, and of course the amount of sightings there have been in that city.

As you probably guessed, Chicago comes in at number one. It's huge, there's super old neighborhoods and buildings, and haunted hotels galore. Not to mention so many bars and pubs around Chicago.

There are a couple Chicago suburbs on the list, Naperville and Saint Charles. The downtown area in St. Charles has an old, creepy feel to it no matter what month it is!

So what about Rockford? On the "Top Haunted Cities in Illinois" list Rockford comes in at number THREE. That's the ENTIRE STATE of Illinois!

This list points at one thing that make Rockford VERY haunted...WOMEN. What? This is what the site says about WOMEN haunting Rockford:

"Rockford was home to a Women’s baseball team called the Rockford Peaches, and social reformer Jane Addams graduated from Rockford Female Seminary in 1881. Rockford Female Seminary evolved into present-day Rockford University, which is home to numerous ghost stories." - Mysterious Heartland/Blair

So there you have it Rockford, we are apparently haunted...and it's all because of the ladies. The top three are:
