Goldie Hawn & Kurt Russell Go Full ‘Fairy Grandparent’ Celebrating the Magic of Their Granddaughter’s Birthday

Bippity Boppity Boop! Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell are magical for countless reasons, and they just added another one this weekend. The Hollywood royalty donned full prince and princess gear to celebrate their granddaughter Rani Rose’s 4th birthday, and we are enchanted.

Like lots of other preschoolers, Rani has an obsession with everything princess — namely Cinderella — and wore the Disney princess’s beautiful blue ball gown. The daughter of Kate Hudson and Danny Fujikawa looked absolutely adorable in the outfit, which perfectly matched Hawn’s soft blue gown and sparkly tiara. Russell looked dashing as ever as a prince, wearing a dark blue ensemble complete with a royal sash and golden crown.

“Happy 4th birthday our precious Rani Rose🌹You are the real queen! I’ll take Lady in waiting everyday as long as the prince is always beside me! WE LOVE YOU!!! 💕💕💕💕🎂🎂🎂,” Hawn wrote on her Instagram, quickly racking up compliments from friends and fans. “Little princess hanging with the King and Queen!!!,” commented Octavia Spencer. “Oh my gawd 😍😍😍this is the BEST,” added Sharon Stone. “Wow! Grandparents of the Year award right here,” commented an impressed fan.

Hudson also shared some snaps from the party on Instagram Sunday, writing, “Our dreamy girl is 4 years today! Happy Birthday to Rani Rose! Rani fills our hearts so full of love as she meets everyday with enthusiasm, beauty and humor. We partied hard today… the princess way 👸🏼 #HAPPYBIRTHDAY.” The post featured glimpses of Hudson and Rani throughout the years, and of course ends with the stunning portrait of her mom, Russell, and Rani.

Hawn has previously gushed about how much being a grandparent rules. “A good family is the answer to happiness. I look at our kids and grandchildren and there’s nothing in the world that could make me as proud as I am of all of them,” Hawn explained to Australian Women’s Weekly, per Hello Magazine. “Being a grandmother is amazing, I love it. It brings incredible joy. Family is so important,” she added.

She and Russell go by the titles of Gogo and Gogi to Kate Hudson, Oliver Hudson, and Wyatt Russell’s children. Wyatt explained the monikers to Entertainment Weekly after he welcomed his son Buddy with wife Meredith Hanger in March 2021.

“Starting with my brother’s or my sister’s first child, they’re Gogo and Gogi. My dad, his wine that he makes is called Gogi because his nickname in life was Gogi, and my mom’s nickname in life was Gogo. So those are what the kids call ’em,” he explained to Entertainment Tonight.

Whatever their nicknames, we’re calling Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell the most magical grandparents ever.
