Two fatal crashes were reported on Interstate 49 in Benton County over the weekend, according to fatal crash summaries from the Arkansas Department of Public Safety.The first accident happened around 10 p.m. Saturday night on I-49 at Exit 85.According to the report, 29-year-old Jose Efrain from Houston was attempting to run across traffic lanes when he was hit by a Honda Pilot driving southbound on the interstate.The second accident happened at about 12:45 a.m. Sunday at exit 99.Larry Carpenter, 63, of Rogers, was driving a Yamaha bike when he was rear-ended by a Chevy Malibu.Carpenter was thrown off the bike and was killed, according to the report.
