1. Why are you running for the mayor’s seat in Cutler Bay?
“I am running for mayor of Cutler Bay because I intend to improve the quality of life of its residents.”
2. What do you consider the most urgent issue for town residents? How will you tackle it?
“We can make the community a more pleasant place to live. In order to do this, we need to first address fiscal issues and deal with them in a thoughtful, creative, and responsible manner.”
3. Why do you consider yourself to be the best person for the job?
“My experience in the U.S Special Forces gives me the ability to tackle difficult issues and deal with them incisively and quickly. I honed these skills further after my service by applying them as a longtime successful masonry contractor in Cutler Bay.”
4. What closing statement do you want to make to our readers?
“I would like to use my skills to give the town’s residents more autonomy, control over their property, and ensure that funds are allocated accordingly. Doing so will improve the quality of life in Cutler Bay. I’m running for the office of Mayor of Cutler Bay, and I’d appreciate it if you could vote for me in the coming Nov. 8 elections.
I have been an original Ridge Rat since 1962 when my family relocated here from New Jersey in search of a better place to raise a family. I am a veteran who served in active and reserve duty for a combined 17 years with the U.S. Army Special Forces, Green Beret (Airborne).
I am running for mayor because I want to see Cutler Bay’s roots of strong bonds to family and friends grow and help make our town a better place for our children and grandchildren.”

For the Cutler Bay Town Council, Robert “BJ” Duncan is running unopposed for Council Member Seat 1 and Richard Ramirez is running unopposed for Council Member Seat 3. Both will automatically take office.
