Corey Taylor has been one of the most successful musicians in the music industry because of his talent and being a frontman of Slipknot. Recently, the vocalist spoke to students about their music and how he pursued his career.

Speaking to to BBC Sounds with Craig Charles, the vocalist were asked a few questions by 11 year-olds who are in 5th grade.

Among the questions was from a kid who asked the frontman how he got involved in the music scene. Explaining how he started, Taylor said it all began when he was singing at the age of 10.

The singer said he realized he could play the guitar and could find the notes played on the song that he was listening to before realizing that he had "pitch." (via Pitchfork)

Despite not being perfect, he explained that he was close. To hone his skills, even more, the vocalist taught himself how to play the instrument so he could write songs.

"Then it was just a matter of getting people together to jam and have fun and dance. The rest is history," he added. (via NME)

In conclusion, he pursued music because he loves to sing and sing along to the "stuff" that he liked."

What Inspires Corey Taylor?

The frontman was later asked about his inspirations, to which explained that everything inspires him.

He noted that life is the biggest influence everyone could ever have because there are so many things that people could explore.

"You can find inspiration, no matter what it is. The beautiful thing about music is that it's limitless. It has no end. All it needs is a beginning," he added.

The reason why Corey Taylor was speaking to children was because of a viral TikTok video posted by a teacher named Risha Allen earlier this year.

The teacher can be seen interacting with a quiet student who listens to heavy metal music. At the time, they were discussing time signatures.

In the caption, Allen said she was a little nervous because she wanted to relate to her student because he never engaged with her or the class until that day.

She added that relating to him and respecting his music taste would help her to have a much deeper connection with him.
