Next generation Hoosier Educator’s Scholarship applications open October 15th

INDIANA – Local students planning to pursue a career in education should apply for the next generation Hoosier Educator’s Scholarship, starting Saturday, October 15th. Students can receive up to $30,000  to cover college costs as they complete their teaching degrees.

State Representative Bob Behning of Indianapolis, Chair of the House Education Committee, says the scholarship is provided to 200 students annually, who commit to teaching in Indiana for five years, and incentivizes the best and brightest to lead Hoosier classrooms.

According to Behning, applicants must be in the top 20 percent of their class, have an ACT or SAT score in the top 20 percent, or have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.5 on a 4.0 scale. Applicants must be an Indiana resident and a current high school senior or are enrolled at a state college or university.
