“You know why I went for it? I went for it because I trusted you.”
That was what Nick Sirianni said to Jalen Hurts after his gutsy fourth and goal touchdown run on Sunday, according to Peter King.
"There's no doubt," Sirianni confirmed to Angelo Cataldi when asked about that quote and his confidence in Hurts. "Everybody was covered and Jalen just made it work. You don't go for it in those positions unless you have supreme trust. And this isn't like blind faith, this is faith built over the past year. This is faith that is built from practice every single day and the games that we played. And so, I trusted the heck out of Jalen that's why we went for it there to get our seven points and then we were able to be aggressive."
Sirianni went on to explain all his aggressive decisions are justified by his trust in his football, in all aspects.
Hurts lead the Eagles to a 29-21 comeback win over the Jaguars, moving the Eagles to 4-0 on the season, the only undefeated team in the NFL.
