With the calendar now in the month of October, one local library in Dallas County is hosting an annual event to swap out children’s costumes.

Perry Children’s Librarian Suzanne Kestel says the Halloween Costume Exchange program is where families can donate gently used and outgrown costumes and exchange them for another costume that’s been donated. She points out each costume that a family donates will earn them one coupon, which can then be redeemed the week of October 24th for a “new to you” costume.

“This is probably our third or fourth year maybe, so each year it’s grown. I just enjoy seeing the different costumes that come in. We have quite a few to start with right now that have been donated by grandmas and grandpas. We hope to have (children’s) sizes for everybody.”

Costumes can be donated until October 24th and for more information contact Kestel at 515-465-3569.
