Deputies said when they arrived at the scene, a man, who was identified as 48-year-old Kevin Adams, was located with a gunshot wound to the back.

Adams was transported to the hospital via Life Flight, where investigators said he was pronounced dead.

According to HCSO, Adams’ stepdaughters, 16 and 17 years old, arrived home in a white Impala with two males. Deputies said the stepfather went outside and confronted the two males. Investigators said there was an ongoing issue between the males and the victim, and they got into a physical fight. One of the males then shot Adams, deputies said.

Investigators said the two suspects fled the scene in the white Impala.

Deputies said they are unsure what relationship the suspects have with the teens’ stepfather.

Adams’ stepdaughters reportedly remained at the scene and are cooperating with investigators.

Anyone with information about this case is urged to contact HCSO or Crime Stoppers of Houston.

This is a developing story. KPRC 2 will have more updates as/if they become available.
