Two Benton County Residents Injured In Rollover

Two Benton County residents were injured in a one-vehicle accident that occurred early Sunday morning.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports that an eastbound 1994 GMC, driven by 24-year-old Nathan D. Walters of Stover, was on Route BB at Woodland Road just after midnight when the vehicle traveled off the roadway. The driver overcorrected and returned to the roadway, then traveled off the roadway again and overturned.

Injured were his passengers, 20-year-old Harley D. Powers of Edwards, and 27-year-old Kaitlyn C. Bonner of Warsaw. Powers suffered serious injuries and was flown to University of Missouri Medical Center for treatment. Bonner suffered moderate injuries, and refused treatment at the scene. Neither were wearing their seat belt at the time of the crash, according to the report.

The GMC had moderate damage, and was towed from the scene by Tolliver's Tow.

Benton County Deputies assisted the Patrol.
