Our grey, cool and wet weather pattern will kick off this week. The upper-level system, that once was Ian, will slowly start to drift eastward Monday, so while the steady rain may start to taper off, the light rain and drizzle will linger. So, keep the warm rain gear with you all day long.
Monday also brings cooler temperatures in the mid-50s.

The latest forecast and latest guidance retrograde the system. This means it moves back toward the area Tuesday, bringing additional showers to the region. The western suburbs will start to dry out on Wednesday. But, showers will linger near the District and the Interstate 95 corridor and points east through the morning.
High pressure will start to build in for the end of the weekend and the return of sunshine will spike our temperatures back up to our normal in the low 70s.
