2022 welcomes the album release, “Nirvana in REM” by the ‘ukulele-toting, award-winning songwriter and performer, Victoria Vox.
Although the ukulele isn’t as obvious as a in previous recordings, Ukulele Magazine says, “[NIR] is a stunning and exceptionally well-made collection… a wonderous musical work of art”.
Bay College is excited to have Victoria Vox back in Delta County on Monday, October 10 at 7pm ET as part of the fall 2022 Besse Center fall concert series.
Vox will be performing her unique folk/pop/jazz tunes as a one-woman-band, incorporating a loop pedal and bass effect on her ukulele, while taking her own solos on mouth-trumpet. Vox has been recognized as a torch-holder for this jazz-era vocal technique, having appeared on the Tonight Show with Jay Leno and featured in the Wall Street Journal in an article on the unlikely return of the lost art of the mouth trumpet!
