Officials were called to the apartment around 8:15 p.m. Sunday

The Burlington Police Dept. is investigating a fatal shooting at an apartment on Pine St. Officials received multiple 9-1-1 calls around 8:15 p.m. Sunday about a shooting with a seriously injured victim inside a Pine St. apartment. First responders from the Burlington Police Dept. and the Burlington Fire Dept. said they spoke with witnesses and found Shiekhnoor Osman, 40, inside the apartment, who they determined to be deceased. Officials are continuing to investigate and are collecting evidence. Acting Police Chief Jon Murad said a suspect has been apprehended and more information will be available in a press conference on Monday afternoon at 1 p.m.The suspect is believed to be the same person responsible for a later homicide at the Swiss Host Motel & Village on Williston road in around 11 p.m.Officials from the University of Vermont Police Dept. and South Burlington Police Dept. assisted with the initial response. Members of the Chittenden Gun Violence Task Force alongside agents with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives have also responded to assist with the investigation. This is the 25th gunfire incident of 2022 and the fourth homicide.Additional information will be forthcoming as it develops.

First responders from the Burlington Police Dept. and the Burlington Fire Dept. said they spoke with witnesses and found Shiekhnoor Osman, 40, inside the apartment, who they determined to be deceased.
